The thermal insulation will be realised by a board of rigid polyisocyanurate foam (Taufoam by Recticel / Powerdeck ) with a core volume weight of ± 30 kg/m³ and an A1 reaction to fire according to RD 19/12/1997 or Euroclass B s2 d0 (end use steeldeck) or Euroclass D s2 d0 (product) according to EN 13501-1.
The boards will be faced on both sides with aluminium foil of approx. 50µ.
The boards will have been subjected to a permanent quality control conducted by an acknowledged institute and will have a technical approval. The production of the insulation boards is certified according to the ISO 9001 : 2000 standards.
The declared thermal conductivity coefficient λD = 0,024 W/mK.
Pressure resistance with 10 % deformation: > 150 kPa (1,5 kg/ cm²).
The dimensions of the boards are 1200 mm x 2500 mm and 1200 mm x 1000 mm. The minimum insulation thickness depends on the corrugation opening of the steeldeck. When the edges are fully supported, this support amounts to 1/3 of the corrugation opening. The boards are installed staggered and with closed joints. Care should be taken to make sure that the edges are fully supported.
The boards are mechanically fixed to the steeldeck. The amount of fastenings is 6 per board. The mechanical fixations to be used will meet the demands in compliance with the UEAtc-class II and will have a minimum diameter of 4,8 mm. The waterproofing has to be applied immediately after the installation of the insulation. The single ply waterproofing will be mechanically fixed through the insulation boards into the steeldeck. The instructions of the manufacturer of the waterproofing should be followed.
The necessity of a vapour control layer will be determined by a calculation or by the Technical Information 215 "HET PLATTE DAK" (the flat roof) of the WTCB. The specific guidelines of the note 215 are applicable.
