The thermal insulation will be realised by a board of rigid polyisocyanurate foam (TAUFOAM by Recticel / POWERDECK F), with a core volume weight of ± 30 kg/m³ and an Euroclass E according to EN 13501-1 and Euroclass B s2 d0 (end use steeldeck).
The boards will be faced on both sides with a mineral coated and perforated glass fleece.
The boards will be subjected to a permanent quality control conducted by an acknowledged institute.
The production of the insulation boards is certified according to the ISO 9001 : 2000 standards.
The declared thermal conductivity coefficient λD = 0,026 W/mK.
Pressure resistance with 10 % deformation: > 120 kPa (1,2 kg/ cm²).
The dimensions of the boards are 1200 mm x 600 mm or 1200 mm x 1000 mm. The minimum insulation thickness depends on the corrugation opening of the steeldeck. When the edges are fully supported, this support amounts to 1/3 of the corrugation opening. The boards are installed staggered and with closed joints.
The insulation boards are mechanically fixed on the steeldeck with at least 4 fasteners per board in the central roof area and a minimum of 5 or 6 per board in the edge zone and in the corners of the roof.
The amount of fastenings will be defined according to their quality, the wind load and the thickness of the steel board.
The mechanical fixations to be used will meet the demands in compliance with the UEAtc-class II and will have a minimum diameter of 4,8 mm. The waterproofing has to be fully bonded with a compatible cold glue on the insulation boards immediately after their installation. The instructions given by the manufacturer of the waterproofing should be followed.
The necessity of a vapour control layer will be determined by a calculation or by the Technical Information 215 "HET PLATTE DAK" (the flat roof) of the WTCB. The specific guidelines incorporated in the Technical Approval of the insulation material are applicable. Follow the general regulations of the note 215 when the technical approvals are not available.
