Fixation by means of adhesive gypsum plaster

Back to overview

General

- The choice of the way of fixation and the lower structure are mainly determined by the nature of the base as well as the physical building requirements. EUROTHANE G panels can be applied for walls, ceilings and partition walls. For this purpose, the panels are fixed on a wooden lower structure.

- When used as wall coating, EUROTHANE G insulation panels can be glued directly on the base by the means of adhesive gypsum.

- UROTHANE G panels should be placed about 1 cm from the finished floor, this to avoid moisture absorption by the gypsum carton panel. In case this procedure cannot be applied and the panels have to be placed up till the floor, the edge of the panel should be protected by the means of a synthetic foil or a sealing kit.

Fixation by means of adhesive gypsum plast

- The support should be such that the gypsum plaster adheres well.

- EUROTHANE G insulation panels can be glued immediately without any special precautions on gypsum panels, facing bricks, moderately absorbing bricks, heavy rough concrete and argex concrete.

- Heavily absorbing bricks need to be moistened. Gypsum plaster blocks, strong gypsum plastering and smooth concrete should be pre-treated with an adhesion product.

- The possibility of bonding on painted or humidity treated surfaces depends on the condition and the nature of the applied products.

- It is important that the mixing water of the adhesive gypsum plaster should be able to evaporate after the bonding. This means that EUROTHANE G panels with vapour barrier should never be glued on a vapour-tight base. EUROTHANE G panels should not be finished vapour-tight before the adhesive gypsum plaster is completely dry neither. Bonding on wet bases is not allowed. Do not glue at temperatures lower than 5 degrees C nor on frozen bases.

- Before bringing adhesive gypsum plaster on the wall, remove soot, grease, dust, wallpaper and loose plastering. Completely dry surfaces should be moistened at least 15 minutes before bonding. Already fixed gypsum panels should not be moistened.

- The installing of the adhesive gypsum plaster is done with a plastering trowel. Plugs of gypsum plaster are being spread over the total panel surface. The plugs and strips have a width of 40 to 80 mm and a thickness of 5 to 40 mm. The plugs in the middle of the panels are affixed a little thicker than the others. The distance between the vertical strips and the longitudinal sides of the EUROTHANE G panels are 10 to 100 mm after pressing.

- In case too thick plugs of gypsum plaster are applied, the strips of ordinary gypsum panel can be used as justification.

- The justification can be done by setting out the EUROTHANE G panels on the floor. In order to apply the EUROTHANE G panel you should start preferably in a corner. Place the panel in the right place, perpendicular in both directions. Use a wooden ruler and rubber hammer for this purpose. Do not hit the panels directly with the hammer. The next panels will be set in the same plane by means of a straightedge.
